By default Windows 10 uses black color for Start Menu, Taskbar, and Action Center. Most users like this black color but not everyone, Though Windows 10 provides you an option to change the Color. You can navigate Settings>Personalization>Colors, and select the colors that you want, then you can enable accent color on Start Menu, Taskbar, and Action Center.
Users try to change the color but they complain that Start, Taskbar, and Action Center option is grayed out in Windows 10 settings, and they are unable to enable color on Start Menu and Taskbar. However, It is quite easy to solve, You can go through the following steps and fix your issue.
Enable Color on Start, Taskbar, and Action Center
If you use the Lite color theme instead of dark color, then you can’t enable accent color on Start Menu, Taskbar, and Action Center. Therefore, you get the grayed option. Here’s, how to fix this.
- First of all, Open Windows 10’s settings and then select Personalization>Colors.
- Now, Choose your Color as Dark theme Color.
- Scroll down and enable accent color on Start, Taskbar, and Action Center.
If you want, then you can select a custom option and choose a Dark theme for Windows and apps separately. When the Lite theme is enabled for Windows Mode, then the color option for Start, Taskbar, and Action Center is not available.
In order to use any different color, the dark theme should be enabled, otherwise, you can not enable accent color on the Start menu and taskbar.
Other than this, You can enable the Windows default theme to revert all the settings back to a normal state. To do this, Navigate the Settings>Personalization>Themes, then select the Windows default theme, not the Windows Lite theme.
Once you’ve done this, then you can customize colors on the Start menu, Taskbar, and Action Center.
