How to Reinstall Cortana on Windows 10

Cortana is a could-based virtual assistant developed by Microsoft that uses the Bing search engine to collect information from the internet. Reinstall Cortana for Current User

This method will only reinstall the Cortana for the current user. The current user means the user account from which you are currently logged in. To reinstall Cortana, you have to only run a simple command in Windows PowerShell. Here’s how to do this.

  1. First of all, click the start menu button and search “PowerShell.” You get Windows PowerShell in the search result, right-click the Windows PowerShell, and then select run as administrator.

Re-register Cortana for All User

If your computer has more than one user account, so if you want, then you can reinstall Cortana for all users. In some cases, Cortana works for some user’s accounts but not for all.

  1. Open the Windows PowerShell again and run as Administrator.
  2. Next, copy and paste the following command, then hit the enter button to execute the command.

In some cases, Cortana still doesn’t work after reinstalling. You should not worry, take a backup of your important files, and reset the Windows to factory state. When you reset your Windows, this will reinstall Windows as well.
